Geografia presso le università di Ginevra, Los Angeles e Berkeley.
Alessandro Ghebreigziabiher Animatore sociale e docente di teatro
terapia, è nato a Napoli nel 1968 ed attualmente vive a Roma.
Si è definito "nato tra due Sud", in quanto figlio
di due immigrati, uno dal sud del mondo e l'altra da quello dell'Italia. Tahar Lamri E' nato ad Algeri nel 1958. Si è
laureato in Legge presso l'Università di Bengasi (Libia) con
la specializzazione in Rapporti internazionali. E' in Italia dal 1986
e svolge l'attività di traduttore-interprete. Ha vinto nel 1995
il 1° premio sezione narrativa con il racconto Solo allora sono
certo potrò capire”, al concorso letterario Eks&Tra
, pubblicato nel volume: “Le voci dell’arcobaleno”
- Fara Editore. Valentina Acava Mmaka Nasce a Roma ma dalla nascita vive dapprima in Sud Africa e poi in Kenya. Giornalista, scrittrice, poeta, autrice di teatro. Da anni si occupa di intercultura e di dialogo tra Italia e Africa. Tra i suoi libri per ragazzi si ricordano i recenti: "Il mondo a colori della famiglia BwanaVal" (Kabiliana 2003); "Jabuni: il mistero della città sommersa" (EMI 2003); "I nomi della pace. Amani" (EMI 2003), Io...Donna...Immigrata... (EMI, 2004). E’ autrice della raccolta di poesie "L'ottava nota" (Prospettiva 2002). Tra le sue opere teatrali si ricorda "Io ... donna... immigrata" rappresentata in Sud Africa e in Kenya e presto anche in Italia. Scrive testi didattici sulle tribù africane e collabora a varie testate letterarie. Insieme al marito Bwanamzee Ali Mmaka coordina laboratori di fiaba africana e di giocattoli africani e svolge attività di mediatrice nelle scuole, biblioteche e associazioni per favorire la conoscenza dell'Africa. Helene Paraskeva E’ nata ad Atene. Vive e lavora
a Roma. Negli ultimi anni, oltre all'insegnamento curricolare, ha organizzato
e coordinato progetti interculturali nell'Istituto Superiore "G.
Caetani". Il suo racconto "Quella sera che il bacio non era
pneumatico" è stato pubblicato nel maggio 2002 dalla rivista
elettronica di informazione culturale "Faranews" (Numero 29).
Con il racconto "Tempi Illuminati" ha vinto il primo premio
del concorso IIIM (“Terzo Millennio”, Faranews n° 32,
agosto 2002). Sonia Mireya Pico Diaz Nata in Colombia, a S.Vicente de Cuchurì. Studia canto al Conservatorio di Ferrara. Si occupa di mediazione interculturale e ha effettuato numerosi interventi nelle scuole come mediatrice interculturale e di didattica musicale. Con il racconto Il figlio della llorona ha vinto nel 2001 il 3° premio del concorso di poesia e narrativa “Con gli occhi di ieri e di oggi”, sezione immigrati – III edizione. Lola De Moulin Ma Mapassa Was born in the Congo during the War of Independence which affected her access to education. The stability generated when Mobuto became president in 1965, meant that she was able to resume her education and in the seventies, she studied humanities in Kinshasa. Following this, she became manager of a store and then a secretary to a high profile Congolese businessman. For ten years, Lola and her husband ran a restaurant in Kinsahka but in 1990, Zaire fell into a state of chaos and so they fled to Gabon and later to Belgium. She initially lived in Brussels and then in various small towns in Belgium. Lam Quang My (Nguyen Dinh Dung) Was born in 1944 in the Nghean area of Vietnam. In 1971, he graduated from the Gdansk Technical University of Poland and he worked in the Centre for Scientific and Technological Research of Vietnam. Since 1989, he has been a scientific worker in the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He writes his own verses and has translated leading works of Polish poetry into Vietnamese. He was Chairman of the Vietnamese Poetry Lovers' Club in Poland. Soheila Ghodstinat Was born in Tehran, Iran. ‘Journey
to Starland’ is her first book, which is a true story based on
her life.
Better known as Moleke Mo-Njie in his works, originates from Cameroon where he fled repression. He now lives in exile in Poland. Poet, writer and journalist, Mo-Njie strings for the English Weekly newsmagazine The Warsaw Voice. He has published a collection of poems, 'African My Africa' and his second, 'Pieces of the Past', is soon to be released. He has been published in International PEN Magazine and in several Indian anthologies. In January 2004 Mo-Njie was awarded the 'Anti-fascist' man of the year 2003 by the Polish ‘Never Again’ anti-racist organisation, for his social activism.
‘The Border Voice Poet’ was born in 1973 in Zimbabwe where he grew up in the small border town of Plumtree. His languages are English, Zulu/Ndebele and Kalanga. He came to the UK in 2000. He has a diploma in journalism and started writing and performing poetry and songs in 1990 and has produced two poetry/music albums with a third in preparation. He is also an artistic director, choreographer, musician, author and educator. Jose Amador Ponce Was born in the mountain village of Quebrada de Alvarado, near Valparaiso, Chile in the fifties. At 16 he attended naval college, became a workman, university administrator and bank employee and studied at evening classes including studies at the Catholic University of Valparaiso to become a commercial engineer. He was a student and trade union leader when the military coup took place and was persecuted because of his political convictions. He was imprisoned, tortured and tried and suspended from his job at the University. He fled to Argentina in 1976 but that same year, they too experienced a military coup. So two years later, he approached UNHCR regarding his status as a political refugee. He was sent to Brussels, Belgium where he has lived for 25 years and French has become his second language. He wrote his first poems in the seventies published by the Federation of Students. In 1973, he was about to publish a collection but was unable to do so because of the military coup. His second book is entitled ‘Vano Apocalipsis’ and was published two years ago with a translation into French currently being prepared. He is currently working on his third book. He is a member of the Belgian Writers Association and of the Maison Internationale de la Poesie Belge in Brussels. He continues to fight for Human Rights in Latin America. Bashir Sakhawarz Was born in 1960 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He first published his stories in Afghan children’s magazines when a child. In 1979 he received the highest writer’s award for a writer from the government of Afghanistan. Bashir left Afghanistan in 1980 due to the invasion of Afghanistan by the Russians and became a refugee in Pakistan. In 1984 he was awarded a scholarship by the British Council and since then he has been living in England. He has written articles, poetry and short stories and has also published three books. Bashir is dedicated to helping refugees of the world and has worked in many countries affected by war. Ernst Fischer Was born in Munich, Germany, where he studied chemistry, social work and puppetry before moving to London in 1979. Here he obtained an honours degree in Performing Arts (Middlesex University) and an MA in Drama and Theatre Studies (Royal Bedford and Holloway New College) and throughout the 1990s produced performances in his rented flat in Brixton, South London. Ernst wrote his PhD thesis on ‘the uncanny space of living-room theatre and domestic performance’ and now works as a Visiting Lecturer at Surrey University Roehampton and at London Metropolitan University. Jennifer Langer Is the founding director of Exiled Writers Ink! She is the editor of ‘The Bend in the Road: Refugees Writing’ and ‘Crossing the Border: Voices of Refugee and Exiled Women Writers’. She is currently studying for a Masters in Cultural Memory at London University. She has co-ordinated refugee education projects in Further Education colleges.
Is a Ph.D student in Italophone Literature and is also a language tutor at University College London Italian Department. She speaks three languages – Italian, English and French and has a BA in French and Italian Literature and an MA in Italian Studies.
